Due to unprecedented demand for the AVE program, places in the 2026 MCQ Examination are limited and not guaranteed. The acceptance of new eligibility applications will reopen at 10:00am AEST on 6 October 2025.
The Australasian Veterinary Boards Council's
purposes include:
- Providing a forum for discussion, advice and co-operation among the veterinary boards in Australia and New Zealand
- Encouraging the standardisation and quality assurance of veterinary services to the community in all jurisdictions
- Assuring and promoting uniform educational standards through accreditation of veterinary schools, the Australasian Veterinary Examination, assessment of veterinary qualifications for migration and assessment of specialist qualifications
